Getting Motivated


Well I have been a bit more motivated to get fit. I am not all on fire yet but I have been doing better. I have been eating better again for the last few days and I have been lifting weights too. Last night I even got on the treadmill for a half an hour. I have also been trying to get up and move more even if it is just standing finding things to do around the house.

I have to go to the shop today and have my car looked at so that could make it hard for me to get a good workout in. It really depends on what is wrong and if I am there all day.

Over the last few days I also read two books, A Touch of Dead and Dead and gone by Charlaine Harris. I really enjoyed them but had a little trouble separating what I saw in True Blood. The television show is so far off the books I had to think a bit. A Touch of Dead is a compilation of short stories and it was really helpful in filling in many gaps.

I will review them soon on my Dark Novels blog. If you like the series these are must buy items.

Mystery Shopping and Working out


Last night I spent about an hour working on training for three mystery shops before I got to see the commissions. They were only 5-9 dollars and they were each going to take a long time. One was going to take at least two hours.


You also have a lot to memorize because they don't want you to be pegged as a Mystery Shopper. So there is more time. For me this is not something I want to do. If you can't find a job I can see this being a valid way of making a little extra cash. Also if you are out and about a lot you may want to think of this. 


On top of that this is just one company that I will not name. I signed up for this company because they were supposed to have online shops and phone call shops. I have not seen one yet. There could be better companies I don't know enough to say anything bad about Mystery Shopping. I am going to stay signed up and see if there is any online shops if I find one I will report it.


After all that wasted time I tried to go to bet around 10 and I couldn't sleep. I got up and did a short work out on our weight machine. I plan to do more today and get on the treadmill. I made a bunch of peach syrup yesterday. I used four bags of frozen peaches and 3/4 of a cup of brown sugar. I put the peaches in my new food processor and pureed it. Then I threw it in a big pot with the sugar and cooked it for an hour. I separated it into individual containers and put some in the freezer. I got Fiber One pancakes they were not very good and had some ingredients I was not sure what they were. I like the Pancake mix by Hodgson Mills, Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancake Mix but I can't find it near me. I may have to order it from amazon.

Going on a New Diet

I am going to go on a new diet...... well sort of a diet. I am going to go back to eating more fresh foods. I know that when I was a lot thinner I didn't eat a large amount of highly processed foods and I didn't eat many foods with chemicals in them. I bought this cookbook on the side and a Japanese cookbook. 


I also know I have to get a better exercise program in place. I have not done a lot since I went back to school. I used to lift weights and jog on the treadmill and now I am sore after a day of shopping or cleaning. 


I plan to work hard at making some money at a few sites I have found that I can earn on. I also signed up for an few other opportunities that don't pay much but have flexible time. I will say what they are if I can I am not sure I am allowed yet. I if they are worth the time then I will write about them. I don't mind trying them if they are free and I will report the results. 


I will let you know if I like the new cook books and if they are helping me on my weight loss journey. I know if nothing else I feel better when I eat more natural foods.

I LOVE COFFEE

This morning I woke up really late and made some french vanilla coffee and it is awesome. I am going to try to be positive more often by really thinking about the little things that I love about life. I also love my heated recliner that I can drink my delicious coffee in.


I have one more assignment to complete today and then I am done with classes. I am going to start work on that in a few hours. Then I have to take my Christmas cards to the post office. I am so glad to be done with classes. I don't plan to go back anytime soon but quitting in the middle of the semester is not acceptable.


I have been thinking a lot this semester about what I want to do with my life. What I have come up with is that I don't want to work for someone forever. I don't mean that I couldn't work on a project for a company but I don't want to punch a clock and work under management. I also don't want to be a boss, well except for myself.


Don't get me wrong I feel very blessed that I will be able to go back to my old job for a short time and stay on part time after that. I don't plan on quitting again but I would love to stay part time so I can learn a way to make money at home on my off days. That is really what I want to do work at home. Work in my pajamas. Work from my heated chair with my coffee next to me.


I have listened to two audio books that I want to review here later that have really helped me start thinking about what I really want to do. I am going to give them each another listen before I review them but they are great. No More Mondays and 48 Days to The Work You Love by Dan Miller. I liked No More Mondays a little better but they were both great.

Changes To This Blog


As you can see I changed the title of this blog I have been listening to a lot of non-fiction audio books and I will be discussing them here. I am also just about done with school and am planning to get back to a consistent workout plan and will talk about it here.


This will still be my personal blog so I will also talk about other areas of my life. I will be going back to work at least part time but I am going to be working hard to use my free time reading, writing, reviewing and getting in shape. I really don't want to work out of the home forever but I can work toward that goal.
